The Liebster Award is a tag created by bloggers with under 200 followers in order to help us to connect with other up and coming bloggers. Each nominee must answer the 11 questions left by the blogger who tagged them, as well as creating their own 11 questions and tagging 11 bloggers themselves. I was tagged by the lovely Kirsty from The Pixie's Picks to answer her 11 questions.

1. Most worn item of clothing?

This was actually quite a difficult one for me, as I have so many clothes I don't tend to just stick to a couple of pieces - I like to switch up my outfits every day (the irony, I'm actually still in yesterday's clothes today -yuck!). However, I soon realised that I wear my faux leather jacket from Miss Selfridge way more than any other item in my wardrobe, as it goes with just about everything and is perfect for the English weather.

2. Favourite magazine?

It probably won't come as a surprise to you, considering my recent venture into London, that Company magazine is my favourite. I love everything about Company, even down to the paper they use (you'll understand if you've ever held a copy!) I also love how they make an effort to really include bloggers in their publication, and I definitely feel it's the most accessible of all the fashion magazines.

3. Designer or High street?

High street - I couldn't afford designer clothes even if I wanted to! Still, I find the way in which catwalk trends are transformed into wearable pieces for the high street so fascinating, and it's always exciting hunting through all the shops/on the internet for my most wanted pieces.

4. Favourite band/singer?

Florence and the Machine have been my favourite band for the past few years. Florence Welch's lyrics and vocals are just unbelievable, and she's such a style icon as well. Her albums mean an awful, awful lot to me and I will never tire of the albums! My favourite song from her most recent album, Ceremonials, is "No, Light No, Light".

5. Where would you love to live?

Anywhere that's in the pretty secluded with a beach and easy access to a Topshop, if that can be arranged please?

6. Favourite beauty product?

I couldn't pick just one, so I decided to go with the two products I have just recently repurchased. First up is L'Oreal's Superliner Perfect Slim in Intense Black, which I use most days. It's a felt tip eyeliner, and because it's so slim it is great for creating flicks (which I'm still no good at!). It stays on all day and the colour is true to its name. Secondly, I picked Kate Moss for Rimmel London's lipstick in shade 01. I lost my first one of these out clubbing recently, and couldn't even last a week without it! I love red lipsticks, and out of all the ones I have tried, it's the only one with a colour I really like.

7. Celebrity Style Icon?

I don't tend to follow celebrity style, however I do always love what Alexa Chung is wearing. She has such an effortless style, as if she's just thrown together her outfit, but yet she always looks perfect.

8. Favourite blogger?

I have so many favourite bloggers! This is so hard, but as I've already mentioned my favourite blogger to be Rhiannon Ashlee (FashionRocksMySocks) in a previous post, I'd better stick to that decision! I've watched her videos and read her posts for years now, and  her blog posts and videos never fail to keep me entertained. I love her style so much and she's just such a lovely girl.

9. Dream job?

I would love to do so many different things! However, whilst I was visiting the Harry Potter Studios Tour last summer I was struck by the idea of prop design, namely the newspapers, books and other more intricate parts of the set such as the Marauder's Map. I just love graphic design and art and I think creating things like that for films would be perfect for me, especially seeing as I love performing.

10. Favourite film?

This was so difficult for me as I have such an extensive taste in films. However, I think most people you'd ask would say that Titanic is my favourite film as I know pretty much the whole script off by heart, spend half my life singing "My Heart Will Go On" and am totally in love with Leonardo DiCaprio. It's just such an amazing story.  I also have a huge obsession with Lord of the Rings which is also worth mentioning, as I can quote all three films pretty well and spend a lot of time listening to the soundtrack. My life is so hardcore.

11. How did you start blogging?

I've been watching Howto & Style videos on Youtube for a long time, and I noticed that some of my favourite Youtubers had blogs. Sharing outfits and ideas seemed like great fun to me, and combining both my love of photography, fashion and writing made it seem like the perfect hobby. It's a great way of getting inspiration and connecting with other people, and I'm determined to stick to it and see where it make take me!

My Questions
1. Do you have a piece of clothing/pair of shoes that turns heads?
2. Describe a fashion "faux pas" that you have made in the past.
3. If you could only use one beauty product for the rest of your life, what would it be?
4. What is your favourite high street shop/brand?
4. What would be your dream holiday destination?
5. Recommend us a book!
6. What is your guilty pleasure?
7. If you could be any character (book/film) in the world, who would you be?
8. Which item of clothing makes you feel good about yourself?
9. What is your favourite song?
10. What is at the top of your wishlist right now?
11. What is your ultimate dream?

I must admit, I've never really been into jewellery. I've hardly ever worn rings or bracelets and only occasionally wear necklaces - I haven't even got my ears pierced! Most of the time I just don't think any of it is very "me", and I can never justify buying it when I know that I could get clothes (or food) for the same amount of money. However, I've really been loving the look of thick gold chains lately, and despite the fact I invested in one from ASOS a few months back which made me look like a failed gangster rapper, I decided to buy another one, this time from H&M. Luckily for me, this chain is a lot thinner than the ASOS one, and so doesn't look quite so ridiculous. It has a double linked effect, and some of the links are textured, which I think makes it look slightly more expensive than it really is. It's really versatile and I love the way it looks with high necked tops and shirt collars, and is an easy way to make a plain outfit a little more interesting. This one was only £6.99, and I couldn't really argue with that, especially seeing as I still had money left on a gift card.

What's your favourite necklace?

Last night I attended my first ever blogger event - the Company Blogging Forum! When I received the email I wasn't quite sure whether to go or not, being shy and having only just started up my blog, but I decided to be brave and venture into London on my own anyway, and I'm so glad I did. It's taught me that if I want to do something, I ought to just do it! On the panel were Susie Bubble, Rhiannon Ashlee (Fashion Rocks My Socks), Sally Burlison from OhMyLove, Roxanne Nejad from Boohoo and Krista Madden from Handpicked Media. I was especially excited to hear that Rhiannon was going to be on the panel because she's one of my all time favourite bloggers, but the whole panel were amazing and full of great advice for starting out in blogging. The overarching piece of advice given to us was to find a unique standpoint as blogging world is becoming pretty saturated. I met loads of bloggers, many of whom were just starting out, and it was so great to be able to share details and ideas. Me being me, I felt slightly overwhelmed and anxious and so I didn't say a great deal, but I'm hoping that I will be more confident at the next event I attend.

Shirt - Topshop
Skirt - ZARA
Boots - ASOS
Necklace - H&M
Lipstick - Rimmel London Kate 001

My outfit for the night! In true Elly style, I decided to attend the forum with about half an hour to spare so I didn't have much time to plan what to wear. I chose (once again) to stick to monochrome, but I think the way in which I tried to play with patterns and textures by mixing and matching stripes and leather makes the look a little more interesting. I added colour by wearing my new favourite gold chain necklace from  H&M, and by applying my trusty red lipstick. In the end I swapped these boots for brogues as I didn't know how much walking I was going to be doing, but would have preferred to wear them!

Of course, the forum was full of fashion bloggers, so everyone looked super stylish. There were some really inspiring outfits and some that made me just plain jealous, but being around like minded people has made me so excited to start out at art college next year.

The contents of my goody bag! The lovely ladies at Company provided us with a bag full of treats under our  seats. I'm excited to finally try a leave in conditioner (this one is by Yuko), as well as trying to organise myself with my new Filofax by Alice Temperly, which conveniently doubles up as a purse. Both The Batiste and the make up remover pads are going to be life savers when I'm at festivals this year and am in need of some sort of personal hygiene. Finally, the ginger beer, copy of this month's Company (and an Alpro Soya mousse which has since been consumed) were great companions on the train home.

Trying my hand at being paparazzi! I figured that seeing as this was a blogging event I ought to make some sort of effort to take pictures, even if they were just on my iphone.  You can spot the lovely Kirsty from The Pixie's Picks (who kindly helped me find my way into the event when we were both lost outside) with Susie on the bottom right.

Have you done anything brave recently? Elly xxx

Top - Amazon + DIY
Faux Leather Skirt - Zara
Metallic Flatforms - River Island

Such a serious face! I decided to set myself a little challenge yesterday - to create an outfit out of pieces I love, but hardly ever wear. It's been an absolute age since I've worn any of these clothes, especially these metallic flatforms from River Island. I remember my excitement when I picked them up this time last year, but I have only really worn them a handful of times since then, despite getting loads of attention for wearing them. I suppose they can be quite a hard piece to style on a day to day basis, but I'm definitely going to make more of an effort to style them in future as I've fallen back in love with them and I'm getting more and more confident about wearing statement pieces out and about. I suppose I've created an almost glam-rock inspired outfit here by pairing them with this faux leather skirt from Zara and a band tee from Amazon, and I like how this look incorporates my favourite trends of the moment - monochrome and metallics.

Why don't you try to find some of your loved-but-neglected clothes?

Top: Topshop
Shoes: Ebay (Similar Here but there are so many copies of the JC Litas on the internet so I'd advise shopping around for the best deal.)
Lipstick: Rimmel London Kate 001 (I lost it at some point during the night - gutted!)

Prom outfits are something that some girls take months planning, but this year I only had two days in which to decide what to wear due to an unplanned invite! Obviously I didn't have enough time to go out and buy something new, so I decided to improvise. I've had this black chiffon maxi skirt from H&M in my wardrobe for a while now and have never really had the chance to wear it, so I decided to pair it with my favourite lace crop top from Topshop and my Jeffrey Campbell Lita Dupes from Ebay. I was so worried that I'd be wearing the wrong sort of thing, but I think I managed to fit in okay, despite the fact that I wasn't technically wearing a "prom dress."

Of course, everyone else looked great!

What are you wearing for your prom? Elly xxx

My exams are finally over! So I decided to take a trip shopping to get a few new bits for the summer. I had an H&M giftcard, so I figured that was enough of an excuse. You've probably seen/will see some of these pieces in past and upcoming blog posts.
 1. Lace Crop Top - Primark (£4) - I already have the Topshop equivalent to this top, and I have been wearing it to death, so I thought it'd be nice to pick up the cheaper alternative too (which is just as nice!). Primark stock these in pink, black and blue as well.
2. Holographic Court Shoes - Forever 21 (£19.75) - See my previous post.
3. Tropical Print Bralet - H&M (£14.99) - I'm going to both V and Reading festival this year, and so I've been on the look out for bralets and other crop tops to wear with shorts and skirts whilst I'm there. I love the colours and pattern of this, and was so impressed that it fit me! (If you have a smaller bust like me, I'd definitely check H&M's bralets out.).
4. White Wrap Front Flippy Dress - Topshop (£40) - This is going to be my prom dress! We're having a much more relaxed prom for our sixth form leavers than we did at GCSE (thank god), so I've chosen this simple dress to go with my holographic court shoes and a matching bag. It's slightly odd-fitting, but that's only because I'm so disproportionate (huge shoulders, tiny waist, huge bum - what?)
5. Black Bag with Zip Detailing and Suede Panels - Primark (£10) - I've needed a medium sized bag for ages now, and I just thought that this one looked a lot more expensive and chic than most Primark bags. It's a great size for everything I need, and you can't really fault it for the price!
6. Grey Bodycon Dress with Panther Print - H&M (£7.99) - This dress fits me perfectly, and I really love it. Not much to say really, apart from that it's a great piece because it can be dressed up or down depending on the occassion - and it's very inexpensive! H&M do these in a variety of colours and prints.

I don't care what you say, I absolutely love the holographic trend. After missing out on a pair of holographic court shoes from ASOS last year, I was thrilled to see this pair on the Forever 21 website, and for only £19.75! Still, being a student and all that, I found it difficult to justify buying them - when was I ever going to wear such a statement pair of shoes? Well, prom is coming up for me on 4th July, so I took that as the perfect excuse to take the plunge, and I am so glad I did! They are surprisingly versatile, and go with a huge number of different outfits. The only thing I would say is that size-wise they come up quite small. If you are to get these, I'd advise getting at least half a size up.

Hello! If you read my last post, you'll know that I've really wanted a pair of JuJu Jelly sandals for some time now, and I finally managed to get my hands on some this week. I just think that they are so cute and reminiscent of childhood summers - as you've probably noticed I love 90s and 00s fashion! In the end I opted a black heeled pair from Urban Outfitters, and a clear glittery flat pair from Bank (I couldn't decide which ones to get so I got both, oops!). I thought that these would be the most versatile colour options for me, because I wear a lot of black, and the clear ones go with just about everything. Today was a really sunny day (we're finally getting some good weather), so I decided to head outside and take some outfit photos to show you how I would wear them.

Belt - Vintage
Skater Skirt - Primark

Joni High Waisted Jeans - Topshop
Frilly Socks - Topshop

 Lace Crop Top - Topshop
High Waisted Shorts - Topshop (Similar Here)
Glasses - Rayban

Mint Green Tea Dress - Urban Outfitters (Cooperative)
Glasses - Rayban

I hope you like my choice of outfits, how would you wear jelly sandals?
